Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Played on a small court with a low net, it uses a perforated plastic ball and solid paddles. It's easy to learn, low-impact on joints, and highly addictive — making it ideal for all ages and skill levels.
To play pickleball, you need a pickleball paddle, a plastic ball with holes (usually a wiffle ball), and a court with a net. Proper athletic shoes with good grip are important for safety. Optional items include paddle covers, grip-enhancing accessories, and a water bottle for hydration.
Pickleball is played to 11 points, win by 2. Only the serving team can score. The serve is underhand and must land diagonally across the court. Players must let the ball bounce once per side before volleying and avoid hitting from the "non-volley zone" (the kitchen) near the net unless the ball bounces. Doubles is the most common format.
